AW17 Tailoring AW17 Tailoring AW17 Tailoring AW17 Tailoring images via pinterest

It's that time again, new project = a little post of how I'm trucking along.
This term I'm looking at Nature vs Structure and the idea of combining the two influences to create a line of tailored garments. I've sourced images of minimalistic architecture that is really cold toned with hard lines and sharp corners, and juxtaposed it with natural images of waves, winters and plumes of smoke. The images are a lot softer and feature rounded edges and natural shape and form.

The outcome is to make a coat/jacket using elements of tailoring so at the moment I've draped a semi-fitted longline wool coat. It's double breasted and has a hidden fastening as well as a two piece sleeve with rounded hem. I'm hoping to make it in a dark grey wool and have a navy lining with electric orange piping.

I'm messing around with the Adobe suite a bit more, and kind of using it in the wrong way to create fun outcomes like the weird lines on the coats and things. I think it adds a bit more interest, even if it is technically wrong!

Hopefully I'll share some photos of the finished piece!
