the glossier hype
Glossier
Openly admitting, I'm the first to dive headfirst onto any kind of looming bandwagon. Yes, I bloody love to know what everyone's talking about and have my own opinion on it. So, naturally when I was in NYC in September I HAD to get my mitts on some Glossier products. $90 later, and I think I can pipe up and tell you my thoughts. You are *so* welcome for the 2948745th Glossier post you've read today.

Ok, so what do I not like?
I'm going to straight up say that I didn't like the Generation G lipstick. I got it in the shade 'cake' and to be honest, it's so transparent and sheer it just feels like a shitty lip balm. This might just be due to the colour of my lips etc, but I'm definitely more of a matte kind of girl. I'm also going to hold my hands hella high and say that I don't like the Stretch Concealer. I'm trying to like it, but it's not for me. Firstly, these bags need industrial strength - which this is not. Secondly, ya girl is pretty lazy and this requires some effort. A) it creases and doesn't stay where you put it. It's fairly sticky and unless you set with powder (which ruins the 'no make up' vibe?) then it's pretty pants. B) it's too bloody sheer. I  know it's supposed to be for those flawless gals who get 8 hours sleep a night and maybe I'm just not one of them, but sadly it's just sunk to the bottom of my make up bag to be forgotten about.

Pity party over, here's what I LOVE:
Straight up, obsessed with the Priming Moisuriser. Not only can I skip a step in my make up routine (lazy, see) but also it's the perfect viscosity for me - even though I have drier skin. My make up sits perfectly on top (I've been using IT cosmetics CC cream lately) and it just feels like my skin is loving it. I really want to try the heavier version during the colder months too.
I'm also pretty smack bang in love with the balm dotcom. I picked up the coconut one and it's fab. I put it on every morning when doing my make up, and it's like an older, wiser sister to Vaseline. It knows not to be so sticky and gross, and not to smell like a nappy and it's just good at it's job.
My new favourite thing is the Milky Cleanser. Like, get out and buy yourself one. I'm notoriously bad at skincare, but this just feels like I want to do it. I genuinely wake up the next morning with baby soft skin - it's so non abrasive and gentle, I just feel like all it does is what it says - bloody clean your skin and put all the nastiness of London in the bin at the end of the day. 10/10 recommend, and conveniently my three favourite things come in the Phase 1 set together.
Lastly, my never leastly - bloody Boy Brow. OB-SESSED. I didn't care for it the first time I used it, but combined with Anastasia Brow Wiz (medium brown for me FYI) it's amazing. I can get naturally bushy, full brows that don't look plastered on and perfect within an inch of their life. I also feel it gives the Brow Wiz a bit more staying power too - literally the dream combo. Go and get it already.

As with everyone ever, use this link (or http://bff.glossier.com/gIB5A) to get 10% off your purchase, and I'll get a cheeky reward too. Win win.

Another Youtube video! Yay, I'm glad I'm sort of sticking to this.
Anyway, when you read this I'll be on my way (or nearly) to sunny San Fran, so do feel free to let me know in the comments what you thought, and feel free to subscribe because that'd be fab.

favourites - may '16
Favourites - May 16 Favourites - May 16SAINT LAURENT card holder, BUMBLE AND BUMBLE hairdressers oil and primer, TEAMI skinny tea*, ASOS choker/s, URBAN OUTFITTERS necklace* and CHLOBO star chain

I don't often do favourites posts, but I figured given I've barely left my flat and I'm particularly enjoying a few things - it made sense to do one.

Firstly has got to be my new lens - except I shot on it so it's not pictured. I recently upgraded my camera to a pro body, and picked up the official 'blogger' lens in order to support it and I'm SO glad I did. It's improved my photos ten-fold and I'm just really pleased with it in general.

Secondly is my current purse. Weird thing to put in a favourites, but it's just so much more convenient than carting a huge wallet around. I originally down-sized because my old Mulberry purse didn't fit in my Chloé Faye.. lol first world problems but it was an issue nonetheless, so James bought me this Saint Laurent wallet and I've not looked back since. The only downside is that I've had to lose all my beloved loyalty cards due to lack of space.

Next up is some Bumble and Bumble products that I've been using of late. I was first introduced to the hairdressers' range by my hairdresser and picked up a few bits in my NYC haul. I've been using it ever since, and the oil has really improved the condition of my hair. I was once a longstanding Moroccan Oil fan, but this has had be converted.

Another new fave is this Teami 'skinny tea'. Now, I'm a total breakfast-tea-or-go-home kind of gal, and usually find these kind of tea's undrinkable but this is actually fine! You can sweeten it with honey or agave, or pop a slice of lemon in to make it nicer and I've noticed I look a lot less bloated since starting drinking it. That and the tumbler it comes with is so cute and handy to take in the car in the morning. Win, win.

Lastly is my latest choice in neckwear. I've always stuck to my Anna Lou of London 'G' necklace that James bought me years ago, but lately I've been branching into chokers, neck-ties and even my swish new Chlobo necklace. This could be the year I start to accessorise again. Who knew?

current front runners #001

Ooh get me, starting a new series I probably won't follow through with! Thought I'd do my version of "current favourites." They might be anything from places, to beauty products. I'm planning on this post around once every 3-5 weeks, depending if it's a fruitful month for good things!
This time I'm loving my new Fuji instax camera that I was given by James for my birthday. I love photography and have a vintage Polaroid so this is a fab update, my room is dripping with photos already so god knows where I'm going to put them all, perhaps I should buy an album.
I've recently started using Origins GinZing moisturiser & Laura Mercier hydrating primer. The moisturiser smells amazing, it's so fresh and citrus-y and goes on like a dream. The L.M primer is a great base for my silk cream and again, it goes on fabulously. I'm even starting to reach for this over Porefessional... Ooh.
I also just got my first tattoo, and totally think it deserves a place on this list. My friend did it (she's a pro, don't worry!) and I love it. It's already got me wanting more, but I'm determined not to jump in and make any decisions that I'll regret. It's really small and understated, and I can't wait for summer so I can show it off!
Lastly a few jewellery bits, my go-to H&M necklace; it's perfect for layering up and yet looks pretty on its own too. I am also loving my two new rings from James, my Vivienne Westwood line orb ring from Garment Quarter and my open heart ring from Etsy. Both super cute and easy to wear.
Oh, and my favourite chocolates ever; Eton Mess from Hotel Chocolat. Please all flock and try them.
