A City Guide: NYC
I'm sure you've clocked that I'm a total wannabe New Yorker, so here are my top picks for how to spend your time in the Big Apple. These are mostly food based, because why else would you even go there?

A City Guide: NYC A City Guide: NYC

1. penelope
My number one brunch place in NYC, purely because of the sentimental value for James and I is Penelope. We first visited on a business school trip in 2011 and have been back every time since. I 1000% recommend the pancakes with fruit, a glass of OJ and a latte.

£? Around $40-50 for breakfast with coffee and juice for two.

2. schillors liquor bar
Ok, so I can't comment on the liquor as I went for breakfast both times but they do know a good brunch. Tucked away on the Lower East Side, Schillors gives out cool, industrial vibes and again - great bloody pancakes.

£? Again, around $40-50 for breakfast with coffee.

3. lombardi's
I found this gem on a recent visit, but it's definitely worth a mention. Lombardi's was the first pizzeria to open in America, and you can see the history (as well as taste it) when you're there. The layout is a bit crazy, we were lead through the kitchen to get to our table but the waiter was super friendly and honestly, the pizza was amazing.

£? $30-40 for a large pizza to share, with drinks.

4. top of the rock/empire state
I know it's generic, but oh so worth it. The views are breathtaking and you just get the most incredible  'on top of the world' feeling when up there. I've only done the Empire State personally, but I hear they're both good. I recommend going at night too, as the skyline looks amazing. P.S excuse the photo, 2011 for ya.

£? $32 per adult

5. smorgasburg
One for if you're visiting in the Spring/Summer, but honestly make the time for a trip to Smorgasburg. It's always really busy, but the food is worth it and if you're not sold then go for the insane views of the skyline of the edge of Brooklyn. One thing worth mentioning is the queues for food, but pick right and I can tell you it'll be worth it!

£? Stands ranging between $8-19

Others worth mentioning: Mighty Quinns is my absolute favourite place to go for BBQ food and I can't reccomend it enough, but sadly both times I've been have been really busy and too dark to photograph! Atomic Wings & Two Bros Pizza for quick snacky lunches, I mean - $1 for a slice of proper NYC pizza and the best damn buffalo wings on the East coast. Yeah. Sprinkles' cupcake ATM is also worth a visit if you like a gimmick, and finally; go to the HUGE Whole Foods on Columbus Circle. It's a day out in itself and then you can eat in Central Park opposite.

NYC just so happens to be my favourite place on Earth, so when my Mum turned 50 last November it seemed only right that she get the chance to visit too, so I got all the family to chip in and I took her a few weeks ago.
We had such a fun time, me falling sick aside, but she definitely isn't going to be taking up a job as a photographer any time soon. These photos aren't so bad, but there were three unusable sets amongst them which is really annoying but what can you do?
Also worth mentioning that the bright red eyes are c/o of flying long-haul, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and jetlag. Fun, fun.

Have you been to NYC? I've got a little guide of my favourite places coming up soon, so be sure to check it out if you're heading there soon!

What do you recon, anything you're coveting? I spend a surprising amount on make up given I always look as tired as I do, so here's hoping this helps out a little...
I'm thinking of doing an 'everyday make up' post (OR VIDEO OH MY GOD) soon so keep your eyes peeled if you're interested!

chantilly lace bra, the date brathe date racerback bra and the knickers

Seeing as it's Valentine's Day, and I spent a whopping three hours in Victoria's Secret while in NYC it seemed totes appropriate to do a little mini haul for ya.

I've never been wild on VS, mainly because I think it's in my nature to run from over-hyped things that 14 year old girls love, but when I went in last week my Mum and I went a little h-a-m. Their Valentine-ish 'Very Sexy' range was to die for, with the black lace body of dreams in. But given that I'm a real lazy dresser, I couldn't warrant $90 for something I'd rarely wear.
That being said, I'm a lingerie freak and had to stop myself buying six bras as my underwear drawer is overflowing. I totally justified this little spend as I don't own anything halterneck, and nothing padded/something that stops me looking like a boy so I think that's enough justification for anyone.

Finally, shoutout to Lola and Stephanie from Pink on Herald Square (I hope you're reading this!) as they were so fab and my Mum fell in love with them both. (She says you're still welcome to stay with her if you fancied...!)

So, what do you reckon, anything you'll be picking up? And of course, Happy Valentine's Day ladies!

all products from Sephora or MAC (EOS from a drugstore)

So I thought I'd share my mega make-up haul with you. It doesn't look that much when laid out like this, and I didn't show you the brushes I bought because they're covered in make up and gross but this is the product of about $500 worth.
Sephora also have a loyalty card called the "Beauty Insider" which I picked up back in 2012, so I continued to stack up my points this trip and having saved up 500, I nabbed this awesome little Bumble & Bumble set for free. Tell me Sephora ain't the best.

I had a huge to-buy list whilst I was in NYC, with make up being the number one thing on it. I desperately wanted to try Nars Sheer Glow, as well as pick up a few of my usual items.
My favourites so far have to be Benefit's Watts Up, and Anastasia Beverley Hills Dipbrow. They are both amazing, the highlighter has a perfect champagne-y glow, and the brow gel kinda gives me brow envy of myself. Is that a thing?

I'm in the midst of planning my next trip out there as it's literally my favourite place ever. Working on finding an internship/3 month placement out there for the summer, or next. It'd be a dream!
Lower east side I'm coming for ya.

So James plays a little cameo role in this post as it was supposed to feature his new DW watch, but al the photos I took of it weren't in focus... Better off staying in front of the camera apparently. Anyway, I felt bad not using them as he looks cute so here you go. Plus he just bought lots of new clothes, so he can show them off on here.

I only managed two outfit posts in NYC, which really annoyed me but I we lost a couple of days worth with travel and then it rained on our last day and my new flared jeans were wet up to my knees so we decided to save them for a London post.
I'm really gutted to be back, and already thinking about our next trip. I'm also looking at interning there at some point, as I'd love to try out living there before really committing to it. This time we lived like New Yorkers, as opposed to doing anything touristy so it really was fab. I'm going to pull together a post on my top eats/places to go as it's so worth venturing away from Times Square and into the real areas.

P.S you can get 15% off any Daniel Wellington watch with the code 'georgiameramo' until May 15th

nyc: #thisisugg

topshop tee
topshop jamie jeans
ugg espadrilles* (excuse my socks)
topshop sunglasses
all saints leather

Outfit one of only two from NYC, and I opted for my comfiest ripped jeans, an oversized band tee (more on that later...) and my fancy new shoes for a very busy day of shopping in Soho.

With NYC being my 'Great Escape', UGG are currently giving you the chance to win your own; all you've gotta do is post a picture of your 'Great Escape' on Twitter/Instagram/Facebook and use the hashtag #ThisIsUGG (as well as be following @UGGUK on both Twitter and Instagram) to enter. You can find more info here.

Anyway, back to the band top... I hate when people buy band tee's from Topshop/H&M as I highly doubt that 12 year old actually listens to Metallica but seeing as I actually like Iron Maiden, and I thought it'd go brilliantly with these shoes, I'm letting myself off.
